The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)
If you haven’t seen this one yet, you probably should. It’s rated R for good reason, but I think this is one of the few films this year that probably genuinely lives up to its hype. Then again, I haven’t seen the original Swedish version. (Luckily, a customer at the restaurant was kind enough to lend me the original Swedish DVD trilogy :) )
Also: is anyone else surprised that Rooney Mara was also in The Social Network, as Mark Zuckerberg’s ex???

A Dangerous Method (2011)
I honestly don’t know what to make of this film. The musical directing is awesome, I can say for sure, but the story itself was too bland. Or maybe it wasn’t bland, but there was something missing and it ended up making the movie boring. Some great acting range from Keira Knightley, and I always love me some Fassy (That would be Michael Fassbender). :)

Paris, je t’aime (2006)
A good compilation movie, I think this would be great to watch over a span of several days should you find yourself short on time, since each story is only a couple of minutes long. I love love LOVED the story with the mimes, that was my favorite.

Never Let Me Go (2010)
If you know me well, you should know by now that a majority of the time I will watch a movie for a certain actor or actress. Well, in this case I had THREE reasons to watch this movie, them being: 1) Keira Knightley, of whom I will always be a fond fan; 2) Andrew Garfield, a cutie I picked up from The Social Network; and 3) Carey Mulligan, who is a really lucky girl in my opinion, but also very talented and beautiful in the not-conventional way (she reminds me of kind of a mix between Michelle Williams and Stockard Channing from her Grease days). And that dimple!
Anyways, onto the movie. Eye candy aside, the story was soooooo interesting. Sad, but really thought-provoking and twisted all at the same time. If you haven’t, you really should see this one.

White Chicks (2004)
The first time I watched this was in the theatre. Needless to say, I was way too young to get any of the raunchy jokes that were hidden between the lines. The second time I watched this was a week ago. And now I can say I get it. I appreciated it then, and I still appreciate it. I mean, I can see WHY it was critically panned, but I still appreciate the humor and how it made me laugh. I have to admit that they did try too hard sometimes.

The Descendants (2011)
I think this movie was supposed to be both funny and sad, but unfortunately a little “boring” got snuck in, too. Also: I’ve never been a George Clooney fan, and this movie was no Benjamin Button. (Meaning, I’m not normally a Brad Pitt fan but he managed to win me over in Benjamin Button because it was just that good. But ONLY for that movie.)

The Artist (2011)

Very yes. Berenice Bejo is AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL. And please please PLEASE don’t be intimidated by the fact that it’s a silent black&white film.
