A Very Long Engagement (Un long dimanche de fiançailles) (2004)
Unfortunately, I did not get to see the beautiful Gaspard Ulliel as often as I would have liked, but any scene with him in it was just that much more precious. Much of the film is focused on Mathilde’s search for Manech, and the mystery surrounding his status (is he dead or alive?) and that’s what will keep you watching. Because you want him to be alive. You’re begging for him to be alive.
If there’s one scene I’m going to be watching over and over again, it’s this one:

So fucking adorable.

50/50 (2011)
I’m so on board with watching anything JGL is in. Because, well, it’s fuckin’ JGL, the man whom I am going to marry one day. Actually, though, the biggest surprise for me was Seth Rogen, because I never really saw his appeal until this movie. He’s funny! I get it now. (I know, I’m slow.)
And Anna Kendrick is as cute as ever, of course. (And so graduated from Twilight.)

The Thing (2011)
I know this film is categorized as a horror film, but it’s actually not. Suspenseful and mysterious, yes, but not very scary at all. Some parts are definitely gruesome, though.

Footloose (2011)
I saw this on a whim because the plot sounded fun (I didn’t watch the trailer beforehand). It was okay, I guess, but two things really stood out to me: 1) the main guy was cute, and 2) the characterizations in this movie were horrible. Absolutely horrible. Everyone in the movie was a one-dimensional character parading as a three-dimensional one. The story itself was sweet but definitely Disney Channel material.
Oh yeah, and the music was pretty boss, especially when matched to the dancing.
